It seems to me that MB/Steyr Daimler Puch specified the Olistamoly 2 because it was Moly fortified- this improves the long life characteristics of the grease. I remember reading on here that the Redline CV grease was too runny/watery. I am contemplating buying a large container of the Mobil Infinitec 152 Long Life Lithium Complex grease for the wheelbearings. I am not sure about the best CV Grease to use. I have been using the Fuchs Euro-Truck Renolit Green Grease in my swivel housings and I am very happy with it. Dutch and G-AMGs idea of having the CV grease be a "vastly different color" to provide visual indication of a bad CV boot was wonderful. Too bad the Redline grease did not perform as expected.

It's back to 'M-B Approved' Greases from BEVO Mercedes: This is what I used on the last 2 jobs. Since the "NEW" Specification for Joint Housing Packing has dropped from 800g, previously, down to 500g, you could purchase 3 of the 400g Fuchs Renolit MP 150 Bearing Grease Tubes, if you did not want to purchase the 'Jumbo-Tub'. In terms of the Olistamoly 2 ?? I have *YET* to actually see a Service Sheet for the CV joints, themselves, other than the 'Long Term Grease' Spec, which DOES include the Olistamoly 2. GKN makes the CV joints on the homokinetic shaft. https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/productdetails.asp?RecID=10334

I believe it's made by Fuchs, but it's cheap enough. I keep about 6-8 spare tubes of it in my parts stock.

M-B Does *NOT* Recommend the 'Green Grease' for the G-Wagen. The grease pictured above is the 'Recommended' material. On just about every OTHER M-B vehicle?? YES! Synthetic Green Grease.

No. And it turns out grease color is more based upon marketing conditions and customer expectations from past usage experiences.
