Usually it starts up fine, but on rare days it doesn't even turn over. I'll turn the fan speed to 6 and I usually hear one click coming from the passenger side and that's it, nothing happens. Two day's ago I started it up in -20C weather and it was perfectly fine, went to the gym, parked the G, hour later come back to start it up and the fan just doesn't work. Also, on fan speed 1-4 you can barely tell there is a blower motor, then at 5 it picks up and 6 it goes to full blast. Do I need a new blower motor? If so I can't wait to rip apart the entire front dash

Easier to check them first. If blower works at all that's a good sign. Means that signals are being mixed by switch or resistor. Both are easier to replace than blower. Buy both new and change out. If no difference for one or the other, you have working spare.

I found the blower motor speed resistor however I am not sure which switch you are referring to. The interior climate control panel switch? Also any ideas as to where the resistor might be located? Thanks Again

The climate control module talks to an electronic motor speed controller that is located on the fan assembly (it is replaceable separately). What you're experiencing sound just like what happened to me and turned out to be worn out motor brushes on the fan motor. The good news is that the fan and regulator for the G of this year are the same as the fan on the W203 C Class or the R129 SL500, so they can be had relatively inexpensively. I would suggest replacing both. And for more good news, replacement is an easy job the the fan assembly can be accessed by removing the lower panel (and the glove box as I recall) on the right side of the truck. It took me about half an hour to do the whole thing. Hope this helps.

Most likely your blower motor is saying GB. As mentioned earlier - it is easy to change. As for puling the dash, not that you need to - it is not as bad as it sounds. Did mine last summer to change a leaking wiper shaft and took about 4-5 hours all.

I saw fan problem and remove dash. Did not see you have 463 I have 460 with blower switch, resistor and fan plenum as the start of truck's factory assembly. 460 fan is also G specific of the era. PITA and poorly located. Good luck with your easier fix.

Bluegg no worries at all, my decryption was rather w460-esq. Okay wonderful to hear its just a glove box, maybe I install an AUX wire while I have that opened anyway Should I replace the blower motor and resistor both? The resistor I found: http://fourbyfourclub.com/W463ElectricalParts/W463BloweRegulator.ht...
