Chrisgd300 Veteran Date registered: May 2006 Location: Belgium Vehicle(s): 86 GD 300 and a few others Posts: 232 | OM617 engine refuses to stop When turning the ignition key to stop the engine. It would hesitate and then stop, and sometimes refuse to stop all together. The manual override on the fuel pump had to be engaged to get the engine to shut down. There's a small vacuum powered actuator on top, this was on it's way out. Diagnosed it with the Mity-vac vacuum tester, false air was seeping in and thus the engine shut down hesistation. Anyway, off to my Merc dealer. Who had the part in stock. 30 Euro's later I was fully stopping again. Most people try to get an engine started, sometimes the opposite can be quite annoying. | ||
