Alternative plexiglass wind deflector - eBay

Check out http://tinyurl.com/le2u7

Due for release start of June (or start of May depending on whether the date system is Euro / US).

Doesn't look as neat as the MB unit, not keen on the straps, but the price is GOOOOD

They've seemingly been doing them for the R170 for a while, and have decent feedback, but I've got the impression that it just won't be as stable as the MB unit.

It's just my guess but I bet this windblocker will move forward and backward with wind gusts and scuff up the roll bars and the shelf. I've seen several non Mercedes windblockers and they were all worthless in my opinion. The genuine M/B one is held quite firm by its frame and there are inserts in the hoop of the roll bars to block the wind there too. Something that lesser blockers don't have.

The MB windscreen has a vent system that really works,
although counters the action of the airscarf somewhat.
I, too, have found the MB windscreen to remain firmly
in place with no rattling, no whistling, no shimmering.

It will be nowhere as good as the OEM. I had one of those for my SLK320 (R170) and it was just a step down compared to its WSA peers in quality.

Haven't tried the e-bay version. Have the oem one. Have had my car at speeds well above the fastest posted here and it works great! That said, I suspect if you put some type of buffering material around the contact points and drove REASONABLE speeds, the e-bay type would work ok. Also, you wouldn't be as concerned drilling it for a gun rack or fishing rod holders.
