So what have you got in store for your W123 ?

I have quite a bit on my plate right now.

Repaint my 80 280E

Repaint my 78 280E Red Baron including lots of rust deletion, replace the euro bumpers, drivers side taillight, replace drivers door panel, replace mirror on passenger side, replace suspension components and lower 2",install stereo system and some more little this and thats.

Drag the 80 280CE home and repair the dent in the rear section near the license plate and maybe get to actually painting it by end of the year.

No sweat huh?

I plan to drive it until the point where it will no longer drive=)

Really, I'll do maintenence on it, I'll replace things that are economical to replace, but if it ever gets crunched or the engine/transmission fails.. I think it'll be parted to youall instead of being repaired.

The car is sturdy and I just plain adore it, but I shan't spend more than half the cars replacement value on a repair.

Sounds good, Nutz,

I need to fix the blower motor and try to get the AC to come back to life. Next I’ll change out the diff fluid. Then replace all the heater hoses, which I believe is the source of a coolant leak. After the leak is fixed I’ll replace the coolant. It gets an oil and filter change along with new fuel filters at 400,000 miles.

Well as you know the value of these diesels are increasing almost daily it seems at times ,so anything that you repair may down the road pay for itself when and if you sell it.

Re: So what have you got in store for your W123 ?

well, uncle flew by on his jet this evening, coming from costa rica, and stopped by here (south florida) for dinner, with me and grandma, before flying on home to the panhandle........

among other things discussed was my cars situation..........

it was decided to get my coupe fixed up finally at a shop, for the time being, as uncle's girlfriend is not ready to give up the 190e to me, as she hasnt picked out a new car yet........

so.........this means i get to have a ton of stuff done now............

1. broken hood pull replaced

2. vacuum pump replaced

3. drag link replaced

4. Alignment

5. new tires (again, my third set now)

6. H&R Sport springs installed

7. poorly positioned (hangs too low) custom exhaust refixed, so its higher

what else should i do?

have the mis-adjusted sunroof fixed, so it works without help again?

i cant think of anything else........

My coupe goes in for a heart transplant next week - a 190E 2.3 engine sans all the brains/computer stuff. Here's hoping for a reasonably trouble free transition.

Re: So what have you got in store for your W123 ?

All I have to do is clean the 300 CD extremely thoroughly, wax it, and polish the chrome. I'm in the process of this already. After that it will have to go in for some repairs...

Re: So what have you got in store for your W123 ?

was planning on doing my W123 at my home garage but due to the excessive rust on the trailing edges of the fenders i've decided to bite the bullet and send her off to the local MB dealer for a complete rebuild,... i know it's going to cost an arm and a leg but my dad bought this car new back in 1981 and it hold alot of sentimental value to me so i don't care about cost.

she leaves on monday morning.
