Sure thing NZ Benz. I am getting rid of them right now, and I am fixing up your thread, so that it can display the pictures, instead of links.

Hey, the Lyttelton tunnel, I love blasting the six horn set-up on my 500 through there, it sounds like a freight train

The plates are mine regardless of what happens to the car
Things are looking up though, the insurance co. has given the ok for the shop to broaden it's search outside of the usual channels

Good to hear, I guess because they consider the market price for a regular 126 and the damage is so close to what the total cost is. When a car like yours is much more rare.

Thanks 1996, But see that mark at the base that is where some useless POS tried to steal my star . I you are out there when I find you .

Annoying because it ruins the whole front of the car, and it will cost me $$$ to get it fixed, Lucky it did not chip all teh way to the bare metal.

Oh yeah, I didn't even notice that. Ouch. You are right. That will probably cost you a lot. Maybe you can just take off the star, and put some touch up paint on the area. Touch up paint in the US costs $28 usd straight from Mercedes-Benz.

I have a few other small scratches and not to forget that one on the front bumper , I may just bite the bullet. I have considered touchup paint but dont know if the paint on my car has faded at all and on such a prominant position, well I dunno.

Where did you get your grill from? I'm considering getting a billet grill made but the 600 grill does look great.

It came with the car, same with the wheels that everybody asks me about, People assume I know what I am doing with my car, so does my mechanic because I parrot what I read on the forums . I think they are reasonably cheep for a 2nd hand one the trick would be to find an undamaged one being the front of the car and all, in fact my mechainic down here has one on a S280 that he is using for parts I think, I will PM you his number if you are interested but it may be better ot get one up there and if you are juiced in at startech then why not get a new one? Tell me if you want his details.

Re: Here you go 1996_S500, My 300SEL

Even through Kevin new ones aren't cheap. Mind you I haven't asked him how much yet. He did get in a sample from a company that makes copies but they were not that good so he didn't bother getting any in. Let me know how much your mechanic is after for his one.
Cheers

Yea I will talk to him next time I am there, I am kind of not into asking for parts at the moment my mate got a review mirror off him after we ordered from startec and I had to return it, Was also the wrong colour I dont want to annoy him but will ask him sometime, will PM you his details anyway.
