Are you having the "rattles" under the front end, while driving on "Rough" roads??? Chances are, it's you swaybar links/bushings. The record-breaking rains here have wreaked havoc on our already poor roads. It has been too much for my poor 'ol swaybar. Here is how you can remedy the situation with an easy and inexpensive fix. I just done this job. I would like to share me experience with it. Unfortunately I don't have a lift and did that job on parking lot. For same case you have to add floor jack as additional, required tools. When you remove torx bolts from the links (picture 1), then you have to support sway bar by floor jack at middle point before then you will start unscrew bracket's screws. Don't forget to put some piece for wood between jack cap and sway bar (you don't want to leave any scratches there);). Jack support takes out any pressure from brackets and bolts will go a way much easier then without it. For my case it was critical. I have torx bracket screws there and didn't want to cut their heads (Don't ask me how I know that :(). | ||

I re-did my Links today, after futzing around, trying to find the source of a Left Front Rattle which started after my one (and ONLY) "Driving Faux Pas" since owning this vehicle. I was lost in the Boonies of So. Texas, and accidentally Hit some high Railroad tracks, faster than I should have. ***BANG*** !!!!!!! It sounded like something "snapped". I had a good look at things, but all appeared in good order. Ever since, I've had a Rattling Noise at low speeds/rough roads, along with a Banging Noise When entering a steep driveway. The Rattling sounded sooooooo diagnostic of a Sway-Bar Rattle, I ordered new links, even though mine are not "that" old. Plus, I couldn't imagine HOW an "Acute" incident would ruin such links. I removed the Sway Bar, and (while waiting for the parts to arrive) I said "What the heck... let's go for a drive with the Bar OFF, and see if I can PROVE the Sway Bar was the Problem!" To my dismay, the Noise was *STILL* there. Dooohhhhh!! Time to look elsewhere... Anyhooooo, since I have done many jobs specifying the Fancy MB "Rubber Installation Grease", I went ahead and cracked open my Wallet, and bought the $TUB$ of Grease. I must say, it made the Installation of the actual Lind Ends MUCH easier! The Rubber Bushings? Not "that" much difference vs. the Meguires. If anyone was interested in seeing what this Mysterious Hoodooo-Voooodoooo material looks like... I included a pic...
