Quarter Window Maladjusted

Noticed window noise on driver side today. Figured out that the little quarter window on that side is closing about 1/4-1/2 inch less far than the right side one, so the rubber doesn't press the main window enough.

I suppose my dealer can fix this, but I'm betting it's an easy adjustment if you can get in there. Anyone looked in there and have ideas?

Thanks,

Mine does this from time to time. Lowering and raising the roof seem to get things back into line.

Good point, meant to try that. But it has been raining, and I forgot. I'll give that a go. Thanks!

Just try lowering and rasing all 4 windows buy the double tap method.

Did that a couple of times, didn't help. But I had fiddled with the roof before I noticed this, so I'll give it a full up/down before I go out tomorrow. We'll see ...

I don't know what a double nap tap is. But a double tap means:

You can press the top button back twice, quickly, and all the windows will go down. You can press it forward twice, quickly, and HOLD, and all the windows will go up.

If the top is down, it just uses the main windows. If the top is up, it does all four.

Ron, any luck after lowering and raising the roof completely?

No. I'm pretty sure that window has always been a bit maladjusted and that it was just a bit windy or something that day. When I look at the rubber edging on the right quarter window, it exactly lines up with the door / window gap. The one on the left is a good 1/4 inch further back.

I'd bet a nickel that if I could get in there I could find a stop switch or something, but will let the dealer go after it, since I don't have a shop manual. If they screw it up too badly, I'll sic my son on it. He has never failed me.

Turns out there's a TSB on this ... looks moderately tricky to fix. I'll have the dealer do it. Let's hope they make it better ...
