"Ahh, why don't you just grab a pair of Needle-Nose Pliers, and crimp the Connector", or the process of RELEASING the Connectors, "Just take a PaperClip and prise the Connector Out!!"' Well, being a Noob at Wiring Repair, I did a bit of research, trying to find a method "As close to Factory as Possible". The following post is as close to what I have found to be the "Factory" method of Wire Connector Repair. The M-B system of Repair is a rather KLUNKY, and non-intuative system. First, you need to Find the Connector Housing Part within EPC, then Navigate to the "Connector" position. Sometimes, the part# contains the Wire Size, sometimes NOT. If "Not" you might have to go to the Wire Diagram to determine this. The "Chart" per below can also help. You then refer to the "Chart" to determine the Crimp Set#, System Release Tool for that Connection. The repair then proceeds per below. I am showing the Crimping Process OUTSIDE of the Vehicle. The Dark interior of the Car, and the Short wire I had to work with? Yielded lousy photos. The Profile of the "Factory" Crimp is quite a bit more COMPLEX than I realized. Here is a Reference, showing a Good-vs-Bad Crimp: http://www.digikey.com/Web%20Export/Supplier%20Content/Tyco_8004/PD... For a more Detailed Explanation: http://www.shearwaterresearch.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/qual_c... I am posting this on various sub-forums, as the procedure is M-B Generic. Obviously there are an entire SPECTRUM of different Micro-Connectors, including the "ELA" version, which has a WeatherSeal Protection on the non-connecting end of the connector. Hopefully, this will help others "Learn along with me"> "G" (0.jpg) (01.jpg) (1.jpg) (2.jpg) (3.jpg) (4.jpg) (5.jpg) (6.jpg) (7.jpg) (8.jpg) (9.jpg) (10.jpg) (11.jpg) (12.jpg) (13.jpg) (14.jpg) (15.jpg) (16.jpg) (17.jpg) (18.jpg) (19.jpg) (20.jpg) (21.jpg) (22.jpg) Attachments ---------------- 0.jpg (74KB - 133 downloads) 01.jpg (61KB - 131 downloads) 1.jpg (110KB - 143 downloads) 2.jpg (125KB - 139 downloads) 3.jpg (176KB - 145 downloads) 4.jpg (148KB - 135 downloads) 5.jpg (134KB - 141 downloads) 6.jpg (122KB - 136 downloads) 7.jpg (132KB - 136 downloads) 8.jpg (96KB - 128 downloads) 9.jpg (130KB - 137 downloads) 10.jpg (110KB - 141 downloads) 11.jpg (95KB - 142 downloads) 12.jpg (89KB - 134 downloads) 13.jpg (79KB - 138 downloads) 14.jpg (90KB - 129 downloads) 15.jpg (86KB - 147 downloads) 16.jpg (82KB - 145 downloads) 17.jpg (76KB - 135 downloads) 18.jpg (114KB - 141 downloads) 19.jpg (84KB - 140 downloads) 20.jpg (102KB - 131 downloads) 21.jpg (103KB - 148 downloads) 22.jpg (107KB - 142 downloads) | ||
