Photo DIY- Front Brake & Rotor R/R

Well, after nearly 180,000 miles, my second set of pads are getting "thin".
Since the "Old-wife's-Tale" of M-B is "Replace the Rotors after every 2nd Pad Change", I thought I would just Refresh everything, while I am there.

Yes, the Rotors still measure WELL within the "Service Limit", but still.

At least with the G-Wagens, they suggest "Changing the Brake Pad Hardware" with each Rotor change, I opted for that, as well. Slightly "Expensive" Mistake!
With the very Expensive G-Wagen? the Hardware is, like, $29 bucks? For the S?? CRAZY!! Just the Rear Spring Plate alone is $70 bucks, PER SIDE!! And the pins? $12 EACH.

Was it worth it?? Yes, of course! Like I always say... there is only *ONE* System on a Car which I believe is the *MOST INPORTANT OF ALL*, and that is the Braking System. Sooooo, I felt 180,000 miles was time for some new hardware.

PLEASE Consult your WIS for your particular model. This is for a 1999 S420. Some years/model's Procedure differ slightly.
