G-AMG G-Class DIY Host Date registered: May 2006 Location: South Texas Vehicle(s): '04 G55, '80 280GE, '99 S420, '98 E320, 2011 E350 | Photo DIY- Rear Sway Bar Link/Bushing R/R Corrected Per my previous posts, I have the unfortunate situation of a BROKEN left rear Sway bar Link. Yes, Yes, I accept full responsibility for my Self-Inflicted Wound. I should have listened to my "Inner-Voice" (a la Magnum P.I.) and Kept the car out of Service... Very Time-Consuming "Oooops". As you can see, the rear Axle shaft got destroyed with the Sway Bar Link Missing. WHY in the heck they would use a PLASTIC Sway-bar link on such a heavy, Over-Engineered vehicle, I will never understand... Anyhoooo, although WIS specifies removing the entire Rear Sway bar? I just did one side at a time and had Zero problems doing it this way. Plus, with one side secured, at a time, there is no risk of the Bar moving significantly.
