G-AMG G-Class DIY Host Date registered: May 2006 Location: South Texas Vehicle(s): '04 G55, '80 280GE, '99 S420, '98 E320, 2011 E350 | Photo DIY- Speaker Surround Foam Repair Since my boys have "Taken-Over" the Old E, they are now complaining of a nasty, Vibrating, Distorting Sound coming from all 4 Woofer Speakers (2 in the Front Doors, 2 on the Rear "Hat-Shelf". Pricing out the speakers? Waaaaaaay not worth it on an 18 y/o car with 180,000 miles. Sooo, I opted for the El-Cheap-O fix. It ended up costing only a few bucks per speaker. The Rear-Shelf Speakers? I did an EXTREMELY shotty repair, merely popping the Speaker Grills off, and doing the repair In-Situ. I did not feel like going through the relatively involved procedure to remove the rear speakers. Lazy? You Bet! You will need to PRECISELY measure your speakers.
