iNeon Date registered: Dec 1899 Location: Vehicle(s): | Re: LMAO !!! An AMG ?? WHAT?!? JDC-- That thing is flippin' *fabulous* Its like a baby(a better looking baby, at that) ML-Class! But the whole fuel economy thing is shot to hell with what I assume is a 3.8 V6. 20mpg in a deathtrapish sort of car seems to defeat the purpose of taking the risk for fuel economy in the first place, doesn't it? I bet its fun as hell to drive, though... until you get in any kind of accident in the front or sides.. I imagine they have stain-resistant seating fabrics for such cases--

Benzcowboy Detailing/CarCare Host Date registered: May 2006 Location: Vehicle(s): 2009 GL450 2005 E320 | RE: LMAO !!! An AMG ?? I found some more info on this Ipod / A38 AMG website http://www.elchfans.de/aklasse_w168/a38_amg.php?st=1&um=4 Here is a translation of the website There is only four pieces and it is exorbitantly expensive; Haekkinen has one, Coulthard one. A A-class with 250 HP has a completely special attraction, above all, if it is as refined built as the A38 with 2 engines. The Porsche Boxster driver places itself at the traffic light leave beside the quite inconspicuous A-class and gives when the light is green to gas the A-class pulls through nevertheless and rushes to the helpless Porsche driver of it, who does not understand now the world any longer. This scenario will probably not take place each day on of Germany roads; from the A38, which the Tuning tuning-Schmiede AMG built, it gives only four piece. Equipped with two completely normally in front and one in the back built in the sand yielding soil, the A38 is well balanced 1.9 litres of engines, per one. Thus even the trunk remains preserved despite second engine in the tail. Naturally expensive materials were used as for instance carbon fiber around the tail installation to make possible AMG here simply whole work nevertheless delivered. Over a mechanism clutch both engines can be hooked up whereby the A-class even at all four wheels propelled which together with the new chassis and 10 mm of setting a good traction lower are guaranteed. The A38 reaches a transverse acceleration of 1.03 g and goes thereby in sports car spheres. The achievement sumptuous for a A-class is well for 230 Km/h Topspeed and one keeps in track from 0-100 in 5.9 seconds. That is outward 250 HP and 360 Nm strong projectile by the broad fenders to recognize the double exhaust system with the two powerful final pipes in the tail apron and remarkable front apron. The sound, that the two engines with the particularly developed exhaust system to produce lets also listen attentively meanwhile: A loud, aggressive Grollen like one it of a A-class indeed does not know or also not absolutely searches. The A38 rolls 225/35 R 18 on fuenfspeichigen 18 tariff wheels with Bridgestone Potenza tire. Also the brake assembly the developers adapted sovereigns to the force potential. At the front axle the brakes of the Mercedes Benz e-class E 55 AMG are installed in the dimension 334 x of 32 millimeters. The rear axle retards 258 x of 8 millimeters with solid disks in the format. The braking distance of 100 to 0 km/h is shorter than 37 meters. The A38 has like all A-class models the electronic stability program ESP with brake assistant BAS. Its the A38 in the 1-Motor-Modus plays advantages over a large volume drive with only one engine out. So the driver can switch the rear engine off by push of a button completely simply. Therefore values consumed between 8,5 and 12,6 litres per 100 kilometer can be realized despite the sports car-typical force potential with the A38. With the Elchfans.de yearly meeting 2003 on the area of the Mercedes Benz address Darmstadt could be admired a A38 AMG - here are the pictures:
