AsianML Date registered: Dec 1899 Location: Vehicle(s): | Re: 2007 CLK 63 The Cab looks great, especially in the view the first picture was taken. But I find the coupe to be better looking. Supposedly sales of the CLK55 Cab were higher, so they chose to only bring that version to the US.

Marsden Classic MB Date registered: Apr 2006 Location: Capital City USA Vehicle(s): Mercedes-Benz | RE: 2007 CLK 63 I saw on TopGear that the Aston DB9 roadster has a speed-limiter setting about 20mph lower than the coupe--they're afraid the higher speeds would shred the canvas top!

AsianML Date registered: Dec 1899 Location: Vehicle(s): | RE: 2007 CLK 63 I think I might know why the increments are that way. I'll have to use the S65 AMG cluster as a better example though (and damn aren't those pictures of the S65 nice, I love the W220). http://images.ecarlist.com/cgi-bin/viewall.pl?dir=995_7366 If you look at how they're set up, the usable range, 0-80 or 100, is set wide apart. This is because, well, that's how fast we drive under normal circumstances. Makes it much easier to read the speedometer. Another thing which I'm just throwing out there is the speed at which the speedometer needle climbs. From 0-100+ there's little drag that can hold the 6.0L engine back. But once you reach above that, drag slows down acceleration significantly, so the speedometer needle moves much slower. Setting the increments at higher speeds much closer together would mean at WOT the needle going from 100-150+ would go at almost the same speed as 0-100, giving you the sensation that you're not slowing down.
