CLK DTM pics

These are a few of the pics I took of the DTM down at the benz dealer a few minutes from my house
At this time there are only two in the entire Southern Hemisphere and they are currently both in my town
One is for sale and the other was purchased by a local this year
The nice thing is, for a car that is more exclusive than an SLR the owner actually uses his CLK-DTM all the time and can be seen about town in it often

I hope they both stay here and are not snapped up by wealthy off-shore car enthusiasts etc and locked up in a showroom/museum somewhere
The pics aren't great, space was limited

No, I couldn't get a test drive - you either buy it or you don't... I can at least say I sat in one

RE: CLK DTM pics

According to 'Mercedes Enthusiast' magazine, MB have given it a 199mph top speed
This top speed is claimed, (unofficially) to be limited so as not to steal too much glamour from the SLR and it's supposed 206mph top speed

It's 20kg lighter, 42bhp less powerful and 33% less expensive than the SLR also

Also according to the mag, there are 60 LHD and 40 RHD examples made not 13 RHD as the MB dealer has claimed

It can lap the Hockenheim short circuit 0.5 sec faster than a Ferrari Challenge Stradale and 1 sec faster than an SLR but is 2 sec slower against an SLR around the montrous and faster Nurburgring Nordschleife circuit; 7 min 52 sec for the SLR against 7 min 54sec for the DTM

It was great to see one sure, though it was not spectacular, I'd still much prefer to have seen an SLR

wow, I normally go to Fletcher Jones, but they don't have a CLK DTM. 2 SLR's, and 3 or 4 Maybach's. 1 pf the SLR's is actually Fletcher Jones Junior's.

aww man, I wish I saw this earlier. I used to go to the Crystal Cove meet almost every weekend, but recently stopped, because I was a little busy on the weekends. DAM, I loved those Crystal Cove meets. I saw some really nice and rare cars there: Ferrari Enzo, Cizeta Moroder, and even one time, a cool W126 SEC. That's a shame how there aren't going to be anymore.

Thanks AML, I loved those meets. I saw some of the nicest cars ever over there. Too bad. I knew it would eventually happen. Newport Beach is always like that. Getting pissed off at people having fun looking at cars. I will have to watch that thread, and go to the meets if I can. thanks again.
