w117 5-speed

Hi,
I have an iron 5-speed box from a w117.

I'm considering using it in my G-wagen bolted to at OM617A turbodiesel but I know nothing about the original car.
I have yet to find any useful information on the w117 model.

I'd like to get a seal kit and I'd like to know what torque and horsepower it was rated to work with.

any info would be great. -thanks, Christian

RE: w117 5-speed

Lol, was just browsing this forum and saw my old post.

117 was the casting number. Bell casting revealed that the original car was a w115

RE: w117 5-speed

Really rare tranny. And one year later still no response... There were a couple of versions, one for four cylinder cars (yours probably) and one for the 6 and V8's . The latter have larger bearings to cope . A new ZF five speed conversion for a W113 SL based on that design is $7,000 .
