I was hoping for some advice on the possible turbo options and any and all possible performance upgrades available for an 8 valve 2.3 litre engine. Cheers Peter Curious if the 16 valve 2.3 will bolt up to the 5 speed getrag that Mercedes put in the G class my year my model

Syracuse315 Date registered: Dec 1899 Location: Vehicle(s): | RE: 230GE 1987 You can usually pick up a turbo for a 2.3 that can range in psi from 6-10psi. I've seen people do it (usually themselves) for anywhere from 3-6k. Majesticturbo.com usually gives you some good info, but the site is offline for awhile. This relating to the same type of question: "The manifolds for the turbo are already available and there are a lot of turbochargers for sale. Your cost is going to spike a bit with a new fuel system to feed the intake, since the existing CIS system will be inadequate to handle all the extra air you're sending down the intake. Factor in a programmable fuel injection system and your parts cost are going to be over budget. Then there's labor and you should tune the turbo and fuel system on a dyno. Conservative estimate is that this is likely a $3K project, but it can be done."
