RE: Roll Call???

Yep.  Unfortunately we just haven't had any more new users to spark some conversation.

Wassup. Are the engines in the CLk the same in the ML? How's that for a conversation?

Well I don't know.  We could always ask TK as he has both a ML and CLK.

RE: Roll Call???

Haha! CLK is 320 & ML is 430. Can you guess how many times I've stood in the garage scratching my chin contemplating an engine swap?

I've taken some time off from the grind to drink some wine, flip off the mailman and maybe grow a soul patch.

Re: Roll Call???

The engines in the E and ML are the same, so the ones in the CLK should be the same too right?

RE: Roll Call???

Hello, all 430 engines are the same to my knowledge. Anyone know anything about a 55 swap into a 430? Will I need anything besides motor, tranny, and ECU? Anyone know how much the cost will be in parts? I want to either buy a CLK55 and kleemann s/c it or just do a swap in my car. TK, I'll buy the 55 stuff and you can buy my 430 stuff, lol.
Hmmmmmmm.....

The tranny is probably different though.

RE: Roll Call???

If your planning to SC (which sounds realy cool, I am considering that one too) is it worth all the extra effort to 55 swap, and SC? Maybe the 55 engine has a stronger bottom end, or something significant like that.

I thought I saw ML55 AMG's for sale back in 2002. Might be a much more affordable way to get at a 55 engine. You could throw the 430 into the ML's engine bay, and drive it in the winter, or sale the full SUV to cover your cost (disclosing the 430 swap).

RE: Roll Call???

Never mind. LOL

I just pulled up the Klee...mn site, stock 430 from 270ish...to SC @ 430 hp. 55 engine... 350ish.. to 560hp.

That seems like a noticable difference. As far as the ML55 ..engine and tranny go in the E-Bay link.... I have seen the full SUV, for sale in the low 20K dollar range with reasonable miles on them. So, buy it now, at $15K...seems like a dream to me.

Here's one for less that $19K asking. Of course, it has over 100K miles.

Well if you're up to it, we're meeting this Sunday, the 21st in Naperville.  Actually, I'm not even sure if TK is coming but I hope he does.

Like I ever give a shit. I'll stand my ground against the best.

I have to say that pic gives me flashbacks of taking the 9th Street exit from I-80. A friend lived off of Market St and there's that one bar on the corner when you exit 80.... can't remember the name but there's always one or two guys in chaps standing outside.

It seems a little quiet, but more than anything, OT has no sense of humor. The old ground was too sensitive and this one just doesn't get it. We'll see. Not too bad

Today wasn't too bad... the bad heat was about a week ago. I can't recall how many people died. Well, heading down to Marin Headlands this Sat. night. Rodeo beach is a great place for me to get away and clear my head for an evening.

Where is that pic from? It looks like Auburn.

I'm sure you'll think I'm being an ass, and so be it, but do you seriously always post that way?  God, if so I know why I don't check these boards as much as I used to.
