1986 260SE - armoured, ex-comy goverment limo, back in 1992, sold 1997
1984 280GE - present
since 1984 have oved more than 30 cars and trucks, mostly European models - Fiats, Opels, Renaults, Peugeots, VWs, Citroens, couple BMW and Audis, 2 Subarus, almost all kind of "behind the iron curtain" brands - Zhiguly, Lada, Skoda, Moskvich and even Trabant (Traby)  . Trucks - start with GAZ69, UAZ,Niva, then Pajero, Daihatsu Feroza....probably miss something |

My first one was this 1971 3.5, purchased in 2002 and sold in 2004.
I needed the money for a house purchase at the time.
Wish I had it back, of course...

The first one was a 1963 220SE, bought in 1977. Emerald green. With six seats, very practical. Felt like a King.
It had the name of a very large shipyard engraved on a bronze plate on the dashboard. They used it as a directors car, with chauffeur.
They sure don't make em like that anymore. |

My first was a used 1961 MB 220S given to me by my dear Unc in 1972 when I went off to college. It was a black, 4 door sedan, manual tranny, bright red leather seats, torn headliner, threadbare carpeting with a Becker radio. By the end of my freshman year, I dumped it (I want to cry) for a new Chevy Nova.
Our first new MB was a 2000 W220 in silver with ash MB tex. My wife drove that awesome vehicle for 7.5 years and was sold in December 2007 with approximately 119K miles.
Our most recent is a new 2007 W221 in graphite with Designo wheat interior leather. My wife also drives this vehicle and I must admit to our complete enjoyment of the ride, handling and comfort.
We have an X164 on order, expecting delivery in February 2008. |

Purchased the 1958 180a in 1970. Purchased 1964 220 Sb in 1974. SAAB, and VOLVO, then AUDI and back to a 1972 280 SE in 1980. MB's ever since. 35 in all now over the years.

My first Benz was my first car which I bought when I was 15. I purchased a 1972 250 with a bad motor. I then got a 300d motor and swapped it into the 114 body.
The next car was a 1989 190e 2.6, then a 1992 300TE, and then my 1981 280GE LWB.

1980 300CE bought 1980; sold later
1980 300D bought 1986 (dropped a Chevy 327 into it!); sold later, unfortunately
1979 240D bought 1988 (and driven forever); sold later
2011 GLK350 bought three weeks ago (back in the MB family!)

This is my first Mercedes. I had a Ford Lightning before my G and kept a Honda CRV as a daily/winter. She made 407 rwhp / 510 ft-lbs of torque before I sold her to a fellow from Maryland last summer. My family, particularly my father, has owned nothing but MB cars since our first, a 1981 240D.
He purchased it in the late 80s or early 90s - so I guess that's when our family's obsession began. He currently drives an S-Class and my mom puts around in an ML. Coincidentally, my girlfriend's family has matching MB's as mine, except the G (which I wish I could change!). I'm hoping we can get her into a C350 4Matic sometime next spring.
