| 91 350 sdl engine rebiuild?
Hello all! I have been away from mercedes for a while! Well a friend of mine is giving me her old 350sdl. The radiator had a leak, and she didn't watch it enough. It blew a head gasket, but we don't know how much damage was actually done. The car has 250k, so I was just going to rebuild it all. Please give me some feedback on doing this. I know I should upgrade the piston rods, as these are the ones prone to bending....correct? The car is in overall really good condition. It has been well maintained. Newer tires, I believe the a/c still works. It has also been repainted recently. I have owned a 300d before, but this engine is no 617a....which is ironic b/c i have one sitting there waiting to be installed in a car! Tell me what to look for, where to get parts, and all the info you have! Thanks in advance!

Sorry to say you will need a tranny too I bet. See www.noels.com for engines. You can buy an engine cheaper than the rebuild price. |
