PM sending delay

I've noticed that when I send a PM, it sits in the outbox for a long time. I'm not sure how long, but I just checked one that I sent several hours ago and it's still sitting in the outbox queue. Is there something that I should be doing to finalize and send the PM more immediately?

Unlike most forums, at P3, your PM stays in your outbox until the recipient opens it. If, after some time, it doesn't get opened, you can delete it.
