| 2003 CL55 irritating feature
I guess the biggest complaint I have on my CL55 is the "hold gear" feature of the transmission..You kick it down a gear or two and it holds the low gear for a bit of time. It might be a good thing out on the track, but in town or highway driving it acts like the tranny is not working properly. Like the dumb thing is hanging in gear too long. I wish there was some sort of override on the feature. Well, I guess there kinda is. If you are in manual mode it doesn't "hang." Only does it in auto mode. Anyway, I really do not like the feature at all !! Am I the only one who feels this way ?

Do you lift your foot off the pedal gradually or quickly afterward? I believe if you do it quickly the TCU might be thinking that you're going to accelerate soon again so it keeps it in gear. Try going WOT again and lift your foot off gradually/slowly and see if it does the same.
This is what I've experienced in my ML. Your transmission is obviously programmed differently so your results may differ. |

You know what.... I had the same problem also.... didnt know if it was normal or what? and when shifting from a stop, does your car jump gears(1-3 with no 2?)
