I have a small coin trapped in the bahousing of the ashtray (must have somehow slid in behind the cover). Now the cover does not open fully.

Anyone got instructions , or pics of how to remove the ashtray, or center console. Lid opens partially, but not enough to get the tray out... which wouldn't let me get in behind the ashtray anyways.

Anyone ever removed the center console?.

bought a new ashtray for 45 Euros  from the Dealer ..... putting it in tomorrow.... will document the removal/install process......

OK ... here goes the writeup .....

The best way to remove the center console

- do some preparation work by postioning the seats correctly and removing the cup holder covers

- take off the gear lever knob (leaving it in the Drive position)

- remove the side panels

- remove 3 screws each side

- remove center console wood section

- unhook ashray harness

- remove 4 screws holding ashtray in place

- remove 2 screws holding ashray lid cover

(install in reverse order)
