Anyway I was wondering what the weight differences are on The 606A, 603A, And OM642. I know there where some reliability issues with the 603, is it possible to run 606 heads on a 603, and would a 606a be more efficient then the 603. | ||

Power was fine but mileage was around 15 mpg on the highway! I really expected closer to 20 if not a bit over that. I sold a 94 Land Cruiser that I converted to a GM 6.2 diesel that would get about 20 mpg on the highway with tons more torque (seat of the pants feel anyway) I believe the 606 head is possible from what I recall. To me there is no point to the conversion unless you can get considerably better mileage or plan to run WVO as was my case. Rusty | ||

I know a guy in San Antonio, that does diesel conversions for Toyota's and jeeps, he actually has a serious business. He gets half cuts from japan. Which is the front half of the vehicle from which he is doing the swap, so all the electronics and everything are there. I emailed him about the possibility of a g wagon swap but I haven't heard back yet. I'm getting in the mid 20's around town. Once it get to 2000 RPM it really takes off. The engine is easy to maintain and drops right in the 300G. When I was looking for a G, I really wanted the M110 because that is what we have in our 280SL and it is a screamer. But now that I've got the OM617A, I can't imagine my G with any other engine. | ||
