New member from British Columbia

Hi,

Joined a long while back, but can't find my old posts.

I've been interested in G-wagons for a long time, and I am looking to buy a W460/W461.

Hoping to gain some good insight before hand, and than contribute back once I do get one.

Hi Daniel,
I hope you can find one in a decent condition. I will try to email you if I run into one for sale.

Good luck

Re: New member from British Columbia

Hi Motto,

I would greatly appreciate that. I've looked at a '86 280ge but it needed a lot of rust repair, and general maintenance as it has been sitting for 4 years. Hoping to find something that I would be able to enjoy right off the get go.

Not sure how many guys from Vancouver are on here, but if you guys ever have a meet I would be very interest in joining in and seeing some of your guys g wagons!

RE: New member from British Columbia

Hi Daniel,

In last 2 years one 280GE, had been sitting for many years, is sold again and again. Brownish or greenish color. I went to see it and the owner did not come to open the gate so I just saw it from the other side of the fence. It was looking in a very unfortunate condition from distance. Color was hard to guess due to dust and grass was covering the half of the vehicle. I guess he was the first guy selling it after sitting many years and he was not a straightforward person to trust. The legal status of the vehicle was not clear. I was considering to buy only as parts vehicle, anyways.

I met a couple of G owners myself to chat and talk about parts. And I also ran into a couple of owners on the street and exchanged information but that was it. If G owners are meeting, I never had a change to join in yet.

If you need to check the VIN# for data card or you think I may help you for any reason. Shoot me an email.

I do not think you can see many G looking like mine in lower mainland. So if you run into me, say hi.

Re: New member from British Columbia

I purchased a 1986 280GE from Dr. Savu through this site, and have been enjoying it all summer.

Looking to do some work on it, and wondering if anyone local has parts they are looking to sell from vehicle being parted. Or have suggestions for local resources.

Looking for a rear door, and some minor interior bits for starters.

**edit** this section of the form may have been the incorrect place to put this, sorry about that.
