Automatic Door Locking at Low speed

As the title suggests,
We have a ML and at above a certain speed the doors automatically lock.

Can the same be done on a early pre facelift SLK ?

If so, what is the procedure to activate it ?

I know that the ML system can be de-activated,and activated when ever it suits the owner by following the Glove box handbook.

There seems to be no reference in our SLK Handbook,

Any ideas how to activate the system

All the SLK's do this in the U.S., the doors auto lock at about 6 mph.......... I didn't think the Euro cars were any different.

RE: Automatic Door Locking at Low speed

If that is the case,I have a one owner 97 car, and it has never done it from new.

So is there a way, or a system that you have to go through to activate this operation please .

If this feature is not enabled, you can enable it by turning the key to position 1 and then holding the door lock button for more than 5 seconds.

Tried what everyone has said,But do you sart with the door pins already down,or up.

Because i have tried with them up and down and i can not get them to activate automaticaly.

So a start point would be good please.

Try turning the key to position 2. I don't think it matters if the doors are locked or unlocked beforehand.
