Cilonen Date registered: Dec 1899 Location: Vehicle(s): | Anyone bought this? http://tinyurl.com/oc6gg They're about to release a version for the R171, for about a fifth of the cost of the MB unit, but I'd ideally like some reviews before chucking my cash at them. Any owners - advice/feedback would be appreciated. There is a duplicate post on this in the R171 forum under "alternative plexiglass wind deflector" if anyone wants to post "directly" to us. Cheers, C.

pammy Date registered: Dec 1899 Location: Vehicle(s): | RE: Anyone bought this? I looked at this the other day. Looks utter pants imho. The velcro that attaches around the hoops looks awful and I can't help but think how the backdraft is going to whistle and howl around the hoops. Looks to me like good money wasted. Be delighted to be proven wrong though

Bruce R. Date registered: Dec 1899 Location: Vehicle(s): | I made one that was similar.................. I used 3/8" Lexan (polycarbonate) , mine was full width, not just the center section. They work OK, but you may see a lot of reflections through the mirror at night. Since then I have tried a few other patterns, the latest is a piece of 5/8" acrylic smoke tinted, looks and works well, but needs a bend in it to tilt the main body back and eliminate reflections. The looks isn't the best on this Windschott deflector, but I'll bet it works pretty good, they have been around for quite a while. If you want to see something that looks better try mymercedes.com, Jerry is a good guy to work with and he has good stuff.

There are other windscreens out there that are stylish, functional and compliment the car instead of looking like you made something in your garage and strapped it to your Benz. Try the ones at www.formymercedes.com Those are some real nice ones. Edited by ByByeAmericanPie 7/5/2006 9:41 PM
