Has anyone done this? Normally I would just take it in but I would like to do it myself. Difficult? How? |

Probably not too hard. I mean, it's just a brake job, right? Anyway, definitely check out post #20 in the DIY's over on mbworld. Maybe you can take some pics of your install and write up a DIY for here. |

Its not hard at all. The only hard part is taking the bolts out of the caliper (if you dont have air tools). |

You will also need and impact tool to get the screw holding the rotor's I know for a fact some benzes have it and others don't you wont be able to tell until you get the wheel out. |

Theres an Alan holding the rotors on and its not that difficult to take off. You might have to hit the rotor with a hammer a few times to loosen it after the alen is taken out. |

Does the Benz rear disc brakes have that funky brake caliber piston, thats slotted, and has to be turned in to compress the caliber for the new thicker pads?
I ran into this on an Eldorado last year. Had to buy a special tool to ingage the slots, then use a ratchet to run the piston in. Not the simple C clamp compression as the fronts are.
