| Proportional Size Alteration of Linked Images
How is it done? My instinct is to press shift as I change the image size (as in PhotoShop) but that doesn't seem to work. Often, I call up the insert/edit image icon (the one with the tree) again and enter the new image size that numerically approximates the proportion but is there a way to do it graphically? |

i wrote a script that can do it for you. But right now it only cuts it down to 50%
I could write it so the user could say whatever size they want it at. Let me know if that is what you are talkinga bout...

Thanks. However, for some reason, your sig pic and reduced image aren't showing up - I could try coming back to your post later. By proportional size change I mean reducing/enlarging without altering the horizontal/vertical pixel ratio. |

Use photobuckets edit feature to maintain the original aspect ratio. |

The photobucket feature is very easy to use, but I usually re-size my pictures before I upload them. Open the file using "paint" and then click on IMAGE followed by STRETCH/SKEW. If you type in 50 and 50 the image will be half as wide (50%) and half as tall (so it's a quarter of it's original size). You can then use SAVE AS to keep your original image unaltered. You can type any numbers into this feature, so if you have an image you want to get to a specific size (e.g. some forums have an avatar size of 80 x 80 pixels) you can check the image size in ATTRIBUTES and then change the size accordingly. |

tt, gareth, thanks for the input. If I am linking the image to something in myphotobucket, I'll do it through photobucket, and if it is a direct link from another site, I'll use the script. |

Some more ways to resize the images:
To do this you need to specify the width and height in your image tag. Here is an example:

Can also control as percentage of screen width:
