| Ignorant '97 E320 Wont lock or unlock using Keyfob
Hi all,
This forum is really great! This is my first post. I've already seen how to do a brake switch replacement that I need to do.
Anyway my question is.. my '97 E320 wont lock or unlock using the Keyfob. It gradually got worse and worse and now it wont activate at all.
I checked the batteries and IR signal on the Keyfob, all are good now (of course it wouldn't be that easy! and I can lock and unlock it without any problems using the dash button too.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you say it's been gradually getting worse? that sounds like a dying battery or a scratched sender. i know it sounds crazy but have you tried replacing he battery again and making sure you have the correct ones in there right now (many voltages are the same size). |

Hi.
Yes i've put the remote on a spectrum analyser after changing the batteries. It opened the car once, and that was it. It's the infra red unit on the car I think. But where's that? By the rear view mirror?  |

i'm pretty sure that on the 98's it's in the door but i think the earlier ones had it in the mirror. |

Still working on it today.. just trying to use an eBay remote unlock instead as I can't find the problem after months. |
