Don't know if this has been discussed before or not, but if I have a gas W123 (such as a TE), can I put a 300 turbo diesel engine in it?? What's all involved in the "conversion" ?? thanks!

Does no one know what it'd take to do this, or is it just such a stupid idea, no one is willing to reply? Go ahead and say-so...I can take it! -Tony

My plan is to put a 617A in to a 230CE. I will need to swap in a transmission from a 240D since I want to keep it manual. The drive shaft will be different, same as with the ignition switch stuff, radiator, fuel filler, fuel pump, glow plug relay... I think you might find more info on some of the other forums out there.
