Re: better half's 2000 E320...helpin hand...

many times i've heard of these symptoms being related to the MAS (air flow sensor) or the CPS. either way it seems that you are about to spend some serious cash on it. but it's worth it. the W210 is one of the best mercs ot drive.

for the CPS i'd suggest you take a look at this: http://www.pointedthree.com/disc/forums/showthread.php?tid=746

and for other W210 related stuff, please reffer to the FAQ/DIY thread:

Good luck and welcome to the best MB forum on the net (we've all been to the rest, this one is not commercial and is generally troll free)

Ok guys...I get the car home...Now it will run until it gets warm...then it'll die just like you reached over and turned the ignition off...because as soon as it cools it will start again...this time I think it set a trouble code tho....she said the check engine light came on...will the cps sensor act like this...???..This almost acts like a (spark)control module or something that mb has similar to that...tell an old shade tree how to manually check the trouble codes....looks like I'm gonna have to buy a mercedes' dvd or manual....maybe someone has a rapidshare link to one......sorry for the rant...thanks in advance...

Laptop, a Mercedes Diagnostics connector (eBay) and some free software from the net. Then get a student / young person to shake it all up for you and hey presto! One diagnostics system with makeshift engineer! It's not as hard to talk to Merc's as you think.
