Flex discs replacement

Next time you have your E 320 up on the rack, check the 2 flex discs for cracks indicating they need to be replaced. This can be a much more expensive repair if they fail! I just heard a story about one that went bad at 60 mph sending the driveshaft through the transmission hump and activating the airbag. This is not a very expensive repair and it could save thousands on a transmission and airbag replacement. If you have over 100,000 miles on your car, they should be checked for wear.

RE: Flex discs replacement

these items cost between $45-70 depending on where you get them from, so do shop around. the one for the W210 can also be used on the following models W124 W201 W126 & W202. in case any one is confused as to what it looks like here's a pic:

Re: Flex discs replacement

I replaced front flex disk a couple moths ago.

I also replaced transmission mount. Better way to manipulate with disk bolts if you remote the mount.

After 160.000 miles the disk had small cracks around bolt mounts.
