G-AMG G-Class DIY Host Date registered: May 2006 Location: South Texas Vehicle(s): '04 G55, '80 280GE, '99 S420, '98 E320, 2011 E350 | Photo DIY- Fuel Sender R/R/Clean Since my wife's fuel gauge was doing the Linda Blair Devil Possessed Spinning it's head around and puking up Pea Soup..... I thought I would try cleaning it, rather than running out and dropping $200 bucks on a new one... Well, mission success!! It works perfectly with cleaning the contacts. To be honest, I think it was the EXTERNAL contacts that were the problem... My sensor was the "new" type with Float Arm, and the Gold plated contacts, but the contacts had only "mild" junk on the rheostat. Be sure to work SAFELY around the Gas fumes!!!!
