RE: SUPER CHARGER

...and from what I've seen in Motor Trend, the newest Aussie Commodore is going to be re-badged as the new Pontiac Grand Prix in the US
The chassis won't just be used for the new Camaro either, it will be the platform for many other rear-drive GM cars in the near future
I believe even the luxury, long-wheelbase Holden Caprice and Statesman will be re-badged for the US, amoungst other markets

These just may be the biggest cars Holden has ever built and I'd love to see what HSV does with them, as I've always like the Grange
For those who don't know, HSV (Holden Special Vehicles) is to Holden what AMG is to Benz, they're just not always as visually subtle as AMG with their alterations

Hey and have any of you guys seen one of those CLK DTM's? you know? - the SLR killer!
I have, first hand, there is one at the main Benz dealer in my town, a few weeks back I saw one passing across my bow at an intersection and while it caught my eye I thought it must be a fake, then I saw it again at a car wash so later I went down to the local benz dealer for my town where there was another one sitting in the showroom
I'm not talking shit either, the salesman said there were 2 of them in town, both for sale
He says there are only 13 right hand drive examples in the world and two are in my little town of less than 400k people - the only one's in the country, they said

I'm off right now to see if it's still there to get some pics...they'll be like "oh not you again!"

Just got some pics of it
I was a bit off in saying that they're the only two in New Zealand...they're (at this time) the only one's in the Southern Hemisphere!
The other already has an owner here in Christchurch

I'm a slim 6'4", yet had a hard time fitting into the very tight racing seats but there was plenty of leg and head room and the driving position was fantastic, not that I got to drive it mind you

RE: SUPER CHARGER

These Australian Built cars are much better than American ones. The only time I test drive an American Car is when they give me money for it. LOL.

Either that, or I get to drive the crap out of it on a test track. LOL.

I should send you a copy of NZV8 magazine. Send me a pm and I'll fire you the copy with the story on Rick Armstrongs CLK-DTM. He took me for a blast.... wow the most awesome car.
here's a pic I took of it.

RE: SUPER CHARGER

So being of topic is all good as there has been a major delay with the installing of the blower. The place it was at was just to busy and it was going to take them another month or two. So this Saturday I'm dropping it off to another workshop.
Oh yeah my 20s actually arrive next week!!! They are on the way as I type

So to all you die hard 140 fans he he he he

Sorry I just can not keep cars standard. I'm also getting the bumpers colour coded...

Re: SUPER CHARGER

oh yeah. I know a guy who is really good at air-brushing. We are thinking of de-badging the 140 then air-brushing them back on! Will look like real badges untill you get real close.

Re: SUPER CHARGER

hay Nomad. I see down your way they are having heaps of problems with 'boy-racers'. When I move down we should go for a cruise in the Mercs and show them a thing or two

Re: SUPER CHARGER

well progress is well underway. by removing the airpump (don't need cats in NZ) it gives space for mounting brackets for the blower. interesting to see the diferent approach this time around. Also looking a removing the clutch fan and running an electric one in it's place. All the aircon stuff is getting binned as before. I never use it anyway and I'd rather have it intercooled anyway.

I'll get some photos up this week at some stage.

Re: SUPER CHARGER

Not at this stage. If they do I'll install high performance cats that don't need the pump anyway.

Re: SUPER CHARGER

I did have a good trip. I went skiing for the weekend

I've got itchy feet. I'm going to see my car tomorrow at some stage and then on Tuesday I'm looking at a 300GE to buy. Should be a good week in all.

Dunno if the rims have arrived. Should be here but I haven't checked. Going to do a nice burnout on the old tires first

RE: SUPER CHARGER

There is a S600 down here for sale 11k NZ, it's almost enough to make me dip into my savings and buy it. I have made a pact with myself to buy it if it's still there when I come back from summer holidays, can get insurance and it comes down by another 1000.

Just my luck, it has just been withdrawn by the seller, I knew it was too cheap.
