| W163 M-class Steering wheel control.. possible?
I was browsing Alpine website, and was reading about their new 2-DIN IVA-W200Ri. The website said that it's compatible with some cars' steering wheel control.. and for Mercedes, it compatible with the C,CLK,and E. Was wondering.. if I change my head unit to this Alpine, change the steering wheel (lets say using the C-class' steering wheel), and the harnesses/adaptors needed.. is this a possible mod? |

This would be alot of work and money. The 164 comes w/ steering wheel controls

Brabus offered it at one time for the W163. But it was expensive, around $6000 or so. The instrument cluster needs to be changed as well. I would leave it alone as Sam recommended...
Some aftermarket radios come with remotes which attach to the steering wheel, for example Blaupunkt.

Sweet! I didn't know there is aftermarket remote that attached to the steering wheel.. cuz usually its just the ordinary rectangular IR remote.
