LED Parking lights

2001 E320 4-matic Wagon.

So one of the H6W 6Watt halogens pops because I have to run them as DRLs. I bought a pair from the dealer ($7CDN each), as well as a pair of LEDs ($8USD/pair). Yes the LEDs aren't quite as bright (there's 4 pointing sideways and one straight ahead). The real problem is the current isn't high enough to convince the ECU (N71?) that the "bulb" is working. The vendor would be happy to sell me some power resistors to brute force the current load high enough to satisfy the ECU, but that is NOT elegant (or energy efficient).

Anybody have a work around?
