How about an IPOD adapatability chart?

Any experts out there who understand the various options for retrofitting an AUX in or IPOD to existing MB head ends?

Our case: Audio 10 CD unit of European origin. Part# A170 820 03 86 says it is a type MF2910. I think this radio was made by Alpine. It has the green optical link plug in the back. Any way to get an IPOD working with it? Even an AUX in? Have one in my G & E class vehicles.

Auxillary input in audio 10 cd

I cant say I am familair w/ the audio 10 cd, but on other similar audio head units in the U.S vehicles w/ the d2b fiber optic system you can use these to convert the cd changer port fiber optic plug into a auxillay input.
Dension makes a integration kit called the Ice Link.
Blitzsafe also makes a adaptor not as complex to install.

RE: IPOD compatibility chart

Well your vehicle is not exaclty IPOD compatible as far as factory options go. I am assuming you have a euro headunit comand 2.0 that is fiberoptic.
1. "dension icelink" or "blitzsafe" or other aux. adaptor that uses the cd changer port(some new models are able to accomidate both functions)
2. aux. input mod. you would have to connect some wires to the rear of your radio and you would gain a aux. jack in your glove box(or where ever you choose to mount it) this would be a "headphone jack style plug" that would work for any device you could plug into it. On the serv. menu of your headunit do you have a option that reads AUX ?
