Re: bad oxygen sensor

The O2 sensor is found under the front passenger floorboard. Disconnect the connector there. Under the car where the exhaust manifold meets the exhaust pipe you will find the O2 sensor, It is like a spark plug that screws into the exhaust pipe. Unscrew it, screw in the new one, and re-connect the wire . Easy job.

A combination wrench of the correct size will do too and it is very inportant to torque to the correct spec.Do not drop the O2 sensor!!!

I know the O2 sensor runs for about $130. Are you saying they charged you roughly $100 to spin a new one in? If so,you got ripped off!!

Re: bad oxygen sensor

For future reference, try this site (not sure if hyperlinks are allowed, so remove the spaces) car body parts . net They have the best prices I've ever seen...but I haven't bought anything from them so I cannot speak for the quality or how much they charge for shipping. They list all kinds of parts, and I noticed that the 3 wire O2 sensor for my car is listed for less than $25.
