probably. They have not sold any new Mercedes Benz's with the 280 engine in the US until this year with the W203 C280.

Probably Germany.

So the US never got the lower spec engine?

I 've notice the US never got the W140 S280 model. Is it because it's underpowered?

I guess, but usually, the US market is never really for anything lower than a 320 Mercedes . Many Americans compare a lot of other cars like Audi's, Volkswagens, BMW's, and Lexus's next to Mercedes-Benz. And it is a tough market, and usually people do not want cars with a large price tag, and a small engine.

Yeah.I notice the Americans like big engine cars. You can see most of your American cars are V6 and V8 engines.

I think most of the larger cars are V8? It seems to be the threshold of where you are a man and a boy.

MB has market-specific assembly lines. Not all the engines – usually the smaller ones – are compliant with US emissions requirements.

very true, but it is also true that there is not much market in the US for low spec engines in a high priced car.

Speaking of that type of stuff, have you been down at the dealership pilfering all their brochers and parts again according to your Ebay listings. Also is that a Vaio you have? I have a Vaio laptop they are very good machines.

nope, I am on my Mercedes-Benz dealer's mailing list, since I bought my car from them, and they send me info periodically. I don't really want most of it, but I don't want to throw it away either.

You are very observant NZ Benz. Yes, I do have a Vaio PC. It is a great computer. I haven't had any problems with it at all. Very reliable, and it looks great as well.

3 and 4 cylinders cars are very popular over here.

I know US has a strict emision. That's why the Euro M3 and US M3 has a different engine specs/
The Euro is more powerful.

I see. Yea, most of the time, the Euros are more powerful, or they have all the special things that the US Specs don't. Just like on the W126.

Euros had a lot of nicer things than the US Specs didn't.
