Re: My Mega-Restoration Nightmare Adventure

then, on the way home, 3 miles of driving later, the rear axle on the drivers side started clunking and banging like it was about to fall apart, causing me to call up the mech, who sent a free flatbed, to bring me back........

turns out that one long bolt that holds the axle assembly in place was the wrong size, causing the axle to move about freely, clunking away........

other than that, the cornering is AWESOME!!!!!!!!! i would reccommend springs to everyone...........

like i said, pics will be tommorow...........

this has taken a week so far, and i still dont have the car! waaah!

and now Grandma has decided to have my entire vacuum system and AC restored to full working order!!!!!!!!!!

I Love Her!

Re: My Mega-Restoration Nightmare Adventure

OMG!!!!!!! 3 Trillion dollars to fix all that, and still more to come!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!

Your so so so so so lucky your Grandma is payin' that huge amount of money! Im scared now for my car, Lord help me!!!!

Seriously, Im having second thoughts about my car, that amount of money is makin' me unwell right now!

Today I went to go see how my 300D is doing at the shop for an NYS Inspection.

Figures I need 4 things to pass the inspection!

1. Wipers
2. L/F Tire
3.Ball Joints
4.Lower Control arm

I wish to do this myself to fix, but I need tools that I don't have and time, plus I need a lift.

For the ball joints and Lower Control arm...

Plus Wipers are gona be the biggest on my list! Where in this small world am I gona find wipers for my car!!!!!!!

Well Enjoy your car, and make sure you give your granny a big hug, and a year long back rub!

Re: My Mega-Restoration Nightmare Adventure

Fixing up a car is a lot like a Heroin addiction.....you always want a little more......a little more....

You need to set down a set of rules about how far you will go. And stick to it.

RE: My Mega-Restoration Nightmare Adventure

dear amsoil:

long story short......... i recently made the mistake of trusting my baby (car) to a euro car mechanic, instead of doing work myself.......as i usually do........ when i got my old Benz, over a year ago, she had a drippy transmission leak........ upon switching over to amsoil in every hole, the leak stopped, and hasnt leaked since....... this mechanic, behind my back, without asking, drained all my fluids, and replaced them with petroleum crap....... now, after getting the car home, (10 miles drive) and then eating lunch, i go out into the garage, and theres a gushing leak in the trans seal, at least a quart or more is on my garage floor........ i know this has nothing to do with ur company (the fault) i would however like you to please send me some material, on how polyalphaolefin causes the seals to be moisturized, swelling up, and helping to stop leaks...... i may be having a court case against this mechanic, as removing the engine to replace the main transmission seal costs thousands........ the mechanic even happens to be an amsoil dealer............ thanks for your timely response..........

-justin droessler

amsoil products i use in my vehicle: Amsoil Series 3000 HDD, Amsoil ATF, Severe Gear 90wt

Myspace is crap! All my friends have a myspace, except me. I want to keep it that way, just a waste of time... IMHO
