Checking oil with dash display when service mileage interval is exceeded

Did the sixth oil change in my 2005 E500 at 39,198 miles this weekend. I have been changing the oil every 6500 miles but I only reset the FSS counter every other oil change. After exceeding the 13000 mile service interval, I found that checking the oil on the dasboard display no longer worked as expected. The warning message about exceeding the service mileage kept preempting the check oil level display. I found that you can override the mileage warning by pressing the down arrow. This was the case for both the standard oil check, and the hidden oil check that reads the oil level in tenths of a quart.

After 39K miles there is no evidence that the E500 engine is using any oil. I was able to extract exactly 8L according to the mityvac oil level scale.
