RE: Is there an AMG W140?

Amazing to say the least
That'd be the true successor to the legendary 6.9 then
Some say the 560 W126 was the heir to the throne but, it's a displacement thing and 5.6 litres just don't cut it

I love the way there is no fuel usage meter, I think with that car it would drive me insane if there was,

yup, but with a car like that, who cares about fuel.

RE: Is there an AMG W140?

graeme73s - 7/4/2006 7:13 AM

The AMG version of the 7.3 litre V12 has I believe 525bhp. Pagani used the AMG engine in the Zonda. There were a few Zonda customers that specified the Brabus 7.3 S engine as that is rated at 582bhp. Here's a couple of piccies of my Brabus SV12

Great machine graeme73s!!!

The Zonda is actually over 600hp

Re: Is there an AMG W140?

sorry make that the Zonda F is 602hp

The Zonda S 7.3 is 555hp

Just to go totally off topic is the use of bhp vs. hp. Not many people know that bhp is actually the reading at the wheels... just more useless info to fill our brains

haha, yea, especially since it was some slow plane. What was it called? Sessna 182, or something?

And James not having a night time license made things even worse for him and the hamster.

haha, yea. Thats why TopGear is so successful. Clarkson. Did you watch the older TopGears? Remember Tiff Needel? He was an awesome driver. He moved to Fifth Gear.

Tiff is a way better driver, but Clarkson's humor is something that always keeps you coming back to TopGear, rather than Fifth Gear, (Well, it keeps me coming back. )

Re: Is there an AMG W140?

there's a German car maker that uses the AMG V12... but it has 1200hp!!!
I'll try and dig it up.
The Veyron has 9 hundred and something hp. It has 1001ps, yet another unit of power.

Sounds familiar, I might have seen that on 'Auto Motor und Sport' on DWTV
That programme is far better than Top Gear, which has the occasional interesting segment, but seems as though it's been designed to please women as much as men
I don't want to see these guy's destroying caravans and bickering all the time, I want raw facts on machines and those who create them
The German programme Auto Motor und Sport has really up to date info on the industry, great, unbiased reviews of top cars without the antics and egos
Carlsson, Brabus, AMG and other smaller tuners all get a look in from time to time with their wares

For example, who's seen pictures of that 500SEC W126 that was turned into a Vision SLR (kind of), it's done the rounds in many forums, well Auto Motor und Sport aired a segment on that guy 2-3 years ago it was fantastic, I can't imagine Top Gear taking much interest in that guy, except maybe for a bit of ridicule
Top Gear is too mainstream, still, I always watch it (I just don't much like it)

Anyways check out some of these old'ish' Top Gear MB pieces (downloads)
I highly recommend the CLS55 and the SLR segments if you haven't already seen them
Also, if at all possible, run them with a good, punchy audio system
I have these clips on my modified Xbox so get excellent audio through my Home Theatre setup, that SLR is mind blowingly good to listen to and feel

Oooohhh...I kill for a supercharger to be tied to my V8, just for the sound alone

I wish you the best on your trip Graeme, Your car is going to be fantastic. Take some nice pics of your car and the French countryside if possible. They will make wonderful pictures. :)

Fitted the new pads and blead the brakes on Tuesday night. Bedded the new pads in with very promising results. Left at 8.00am Thursday morning to go to Le Mans and the brake pedal was almost on the floor. The guys at the garage blead the brakes again but unfortunately it looks like I need a new brake master cylinder.
So we took the F150 lightning pick up truck, saw 144mph on the gps sat nav, not bad for a pick up truck. None the less had a fantastic time. Drove a mates Murcielago, took my niece out in another mates Testarossa and persuaded another mate to let me take the missus out in this. Absolutely awesome.

RE: Is there an AMG W140?

It always amazes me how low to the ground these super cars are. Like on Transporter 2 where he drives the lambo under the barrier arm. It might be bullshit but these caes are so low its insane when you sit in traffic and see one next to you.
