she's filled to the brim, and smells good, and its so hot here...our garage temp with the 2 cars (mine and grandmas) that get run every morning, it stays at like 115, when the doors shut......whew.......but its great for the oil......

RE: Alternative Fuels Thread

i sure havent yet.....

u see, in Germany, in our work kombi, an Opel Kaddett 1,7l diesel, we always do this in summer, without conversions, because vegatable oil there is 15 cents cheaper per liter than biodiesel at the pump, which is like 35 cents cheaper per liter than pump diesel.......and the new ultra premium diesel fuels that Aral, Shell, BP have started there costs even more, like 8 cents, than normal diesel, which is sold at the same pump....

Very interesting. That is a great way to save money. Not to mention that with vegetable oil, the prices will not be manipulated, as they are with petrol/gasoline.

RE: Alternative Fuels Thread

There was a long letter in the current issue of the ‘Star’ by a 350 SDL owner. He was thanking the editors for an article in the November/December issue about BioDiesel. He mentioned how well his engine ran on the stuff, how when he did an oil analysis the soot content was lower with BioD then petroleum diesel, and how he extended the oil change intervals. Perhaps if more 350s were running BioD back in the day fewer rods would have been bent.
