Noticed that if you mute the radio with the Mute switch, you can unmute it by changing the volume from the steering wheel. I realize that this is pretty much useless info, but, I am trying to get the post count up in the W211 forum. :-)

RE: Mute/unmute audio

Whenever i first got the car i couldn't figure out how to fast forward through a song. I found out if you hold down one of the seek buttons you can fast forward through the song you are listening to.

How do you use the steering wheel to match up with your radio presets? Whenever I hit the channel up it gives the next channel not the next preset.

I think 2004 was the last year where you could use the steering wheel controls to go through radio presets.
I already asked the dealer. They said there's no way of getting this feature back.

E class Good useless information continued that alot of people dont know

You can mute or adjust navigation volume while navigation voice is active.

You can roll up or back down windows while holding the ac recirc button down.

You can change you locking remote from all doors to driver and fuel door by holding down the lock and unlock buttons till the red LED on the remote flashes rapidly.(wifes key good idea)

You can change your cigar ligher to a constant power source by moving over the fuse one slot(as opposed to only being acitve w/ the ignition on) i.e 15 and 30 circuits.

Your sunvisors extend if you slightly pull them.

Your headrest adjusts if you pull it outwards.

Depending on the version your headunit and cd changer play mp3's and w/ comand you have a AUX. jack in glove box.

You can purchase a shelf for your glove box 2 stories =) somewhere around 04 to mid 06 only 03 and early 04 came equipped w/ it.

You can order a slim key that looks like a remote key w/ no buttons that fits in your wallet...(vallet or emergency key)

Your E class's starting MSRP has been about the same for almost two decades.

Enjoy,
Sam
