IT'S ONLY AN ENGINE LUBRICANT, NOT THE SECOND COMING! If it were *that* good, I would have heard of it *before* I started hearing your rants. One question-- Do they pay you to be a stark-raving amsoil lunatic, or do you do it for free? I forgot to put the oil cap back on after an oil change once, and it made a GIANT mess, I feel your pain.

jdc1244 Date registered: Dec 1899 Location: Vehicle(s): | RE: A Mess.... I love the 124s but in some respect they marked the beginning to the end of MB. However perfect the 123 was it was seen as pedestrian – the 124 was total luxury; the first gas MB sedan to be introduced with fuel injection. It also had the cool wedge trunk lid. If I get one it will be because of that trunk lid. US front looks like an escort, unfortunately. DBT, I think we’ve all don’t that – went down my driveway leaving a trail of oil from the 500 once. The 300 SE is the scary one with its spin on oil filter. I triple check to make sure the filter gasket’s not stuck to the mount. I like the way the mount is ‘up side down,’ however – ease to inspect.

I use name brand dino oil and change it frequently......if find that fairly cheap compaired to the synthetics.....since soot loading will be a big issue within 10K miles anyway.
I forgot that O ring ..........ONCE. I always start the car up and immediately look for leaks before it moves one inch every time I change the oil. Something my father taught me to do before I ever got my first car. Edited by Boneheaddoctor 7/18/2006 1:52 PM
