Re: Hey you experts, 500SEC AMG?

i Got 1992 500SEL Its NZ new but 220Kms on the clock but in fairly good nick (gear box done 2 years ago etc) still need few more things to make it perfect., but slowly getting there, next is new shocks, and may be performance chip to remove the 250Km limiter :-D and possibly stainless exhaust with bit more flow(as long as it sounds nice and standard)...but mine already comes non-cat as factory spec so i dont think i can get more flow.

Btw with the motorway the one thru city is done but the Northwestern from south auckland is some time away still and now they want to introduce tolls so they get enough money to finish it...like $10 a trip :-( shocking...

Yea I did see taht on the news but the one that I was talking about was the one that has the two tunnels near Orewa. They broke through on one of the tunnels a little while ago. Your 92 sounds sweet as anything. I wish I could get a 500 but I will never be able to insure it, :(.

i cant get insurance iam under 25, BTW i used to have 230E and wanst able to insure it either ....i mean i can get something like very dodgy insurance for like 2K a year with $1500 access but iam talking about real insurance :-)
My mate had 320E and it was pretty swift , iam not quite sure about 320 in S class but its not that much heavier i think 320E is something like 1600Kgs
500 is fun tho but bit overkill for NZ speed limit and bacon on every corner :-((((

There are so many police working the streach of motorway down here in Dunedin, there is a strech with no lights on it and they hide in the dark the 1st thing you know of it is the flashing lights. Man I would love a 500...

Yea as soon as I can I will be switching to another company, thing is if I hold any insurance and not have an accident my insurance costs will be lower at 25 than someone who has no insurance history, that and my Dad put that as the only conditon, and as yes sadly I am still dependent on my parents I have to do that.
