But you are right rubber during the winter at least might be a good idea. haha, yea, you should just leave your car as is, with no rubber mats, trunk liner, protection, etc. LOL. But seriously, because on my W126, which my dad gave me, he never put any rubber mats, or plastic mats over the factory mats, and they ended up getting ruined, and the mats are basically beyond help. They are in very bad condition.  I need to get some new ones for the 126. The same thing could easily happen to your Awesome W140. Even I wouldn't want that to happen to you're car. You're car is a rare and awesome W140. It will totally pay off. | ||

I have no clue about buying OEM MB Carpet Floor Mats. Probably pretty expensive from the dealer. I have the OEM MB Carpet Floor Mats in my W140, and the rubber ones are aftermarket. They do not cover the entire floormat, but get all the parts of the mat that you need it to cover. I got a set of the rubber ones for $20 US. You can get plastic ones for like $5 US. | ||

Interesting, They might have been after market? Because the ones I've seen, even with right hand drive W140's, have the embroided Mercedes-Benz Stars in them. I just had a quick look on trademe and two other W140s had my mats some had plain ones but none had the ones you were talking about. We must ask Zeq what his are it might be an Asia spec thing.  | |
