Engine Mounts

I put in 1/2 of Shlomo's new engine mounts today and wanted to post here about it-- There is a distinct lack of technical information!!

The factory mount is about 1 1/2 inches shorter than the new one(picture 1) and the T-Mount is, well... Not doing anything at all(picture 2)

I was wondering how to do the drivers side because 1) I *almost* stripped one of the screws and 2) the heat-shield is all up in the way!

I'll try to use a standard bit to see if it'll loosen up the screw, but if that fails-- I'll ue a chisel and make it a flat-head screw to remove it!

I may even attempt the rear sub-frame mount-- how difficult is that one? I made a cheater-bar and it helped tremendously with the front mount's lower screw!!

Re: Engine Mounts

It isn't such a terrible job as I thought.

there are 3 screws on the left and right mounts, the t-mount has 3 bolts.

Tools you will need:

6mm and 8mm allen sockets with a breaker bar handle(a cheater pipe is VERY VERY much recommended)

19mm wrench(the t-mount can't be accessed with a socket)

13mm socket and wrench for the two bolts on the 'arms' of the t-mount.

A 2x4 to jack up the engine on so you don't dent the oil pan

It took me about 1.5 hours to figure out what to do, about an hour of actual work. I figure it saves about 2 hours labor charge-- not bad

O but its better for your high speed turning and driving...

I wonder how you get over speed bumps? Or go up drive way ramps?
