I don't know about this India production but I know in Malaysia, There's a lot of locally produced W140. The engines only last up to 4 years and and to be rebulit or replaced. They are not up to MB spec. Really? Thats pretty interesting. I do know that they did some special orders after 1999, but it sounds like that is suggesting that production is very wide spread. The W140 built in Malaysia? Are they built with MB badges on them? Yes they have MB badges on.They are CKD units. I really don't know why the engines last 3-4 years like they said. If you know deep inside Malaysia and have contacts there. There's lots of Workshop sells Half cut W140s and W124,W211 body.Even range of MB Dashboards and other bodyparts. They even can convert the W123 to W124 body.LOL. whoa, that is really cool. I never even thought that they made them anywhere besides Germany!  I think the 2001 W140's were special built ones for presidents and prime ministers, and stuff. Maybe an S600 Pullman W140? | ||

They only built the low spec C,E,S class(C180-C220, E200-E240, S280-S320). All the roadster and high spec MB and vans are imported from Germnay Where's Germnay? LOL  Yea, you must be right. It must be really cool to have THE LAST W140.  | ||

BTW i believe they actualy still make w124 but of course are not allowed to put star on it as its not mercedes anymore.... I saw some chart on german w140 club site and last w140 in germany was in 2000 and only few pieces i think it was 9 so yeah i would love one of those ..... Were they special order? They only stopped making VW beetles in Mexico a few years ago too. they still make a lot of VW's in mexico, such as this: The VW Pointer. LOL They don't even sell it to Americans, which I find very interesting, since all they have to do is drive them a few miles into the U.S.  ] | ||
